What is the role of a mentor?

If you have decided to achieve all or part of your PQSW or AASW by means of an individual portfolio, you will need a mentor to ensure that you keep on the right track.

Mentors provide both guidance and supervision as you progress through the framework to your Award. The first job your Mentor will be asked to do is to discuss and help you develop a plan of how you propose to complete the award. This will normally include negotiating a Learning Agreement to ensure that you have chosen the most appropriate level of award, route and area of study and/or training. S/he will also ensure that you fully understand the framework for the Post Qualifying Awards, and help you to progress towards the achievement of your Award.

The accredited Assessment Centre should be able to help you identify a mentor for your requirements.
