How does the PQ Child Care Award link to the PQ Framework?

The PQ Child Care Award is an Award backed by the Department of Health which also links to the PQSW Award and is therefore another example of an accredited course.

At present, all candidates enrolling for the PQ Child Care Award will be expected to have completed successfully the first stage of the PQSW Award (PQ1).

In order to claim PQ1, you will need to have completed an individual portfolio addressing competence PQ1 of the PQSW Award and had it assessed by GLPQ’s assessors. Many employers are developing in-house programmes to enable qualified Social Workers to undertake PQ1 so you are advised to check on this with your Training Section.
