How does the Post-Qualifying Awards Framework link to CPD?
The Post-Qualifying Awards Framework provides a structure within which qualified Social Workers can maintain, enhance and develop their professional skills in ways to suit a variety of needs and circumstances – in other words, it facilitates Continuing Professional Development beyond the point of qualification.
It does this by providing:
* formal recognition of the professional skills of qualified practising Social Workers through two Awards which identify a range of professional abilities relevant to ensuring good practice.
* flexible structures for post-qualification education which establish common professional standards across the wide variety of social work education and training available to qualified Social Workers. They also link a growing number of post-qualifying academic courses and learning programmes directly to the professional skills identified in these Awards.
* opportunities for Social Workers to demonstrate their professional competence based upon evidence drawn from their working context through an individual portfolio
via the Supported Learning Route. |
